Interview — Worst Case Scenario

Worst Case Scenario has made lot of changes since from their 2004 forming. Since then, the band has experienced a shuffling of members and a complete overhaul on songwriting. This pop punk band from Omaha, Nebraska has aggressively swept local venues and battles of the band with their straight, tight sound. You can catch David McInnis (vocals), Nate McInnis (guitar/vocals), Trevor Brezack (guitar/vocals), Colin Heskin (bass) and Tyler Hoffman (drums) in Omaha at Sokol Underground in April.

Skratch: Give me an idea of what one would expect from your live show.

Lots of sarcasm and ridiculous commentary between songs. Fun music to dance to and an upbeat atmosphere.

Skratch: What do you guys do off the stage?

On the weekend we go to parties and hang out with our homies. Tyler plays basketball and baseball so we don’t see him too much. David works all the time and plays drums in two other bands, Trevor hangs out with his girlfriend, Nate works on his mustang and hangs out with Colin and Colin wrestles and plays video games and macs on chicks.

Skratch: Where do you enjoy touring? Any good stories?

Downtown Omaha, maybe Lincoln someday. As far as good stories we always see something ridiculous in South Omaha, it never fails.

Skratch: What are you favorite two lyric lines from your recent songs? Tell me a little about them.

"Yesterday I was normal, no doubt in my mind, today I’m questioning those thoughts I had"
This line is about making a decision between two girls.
"Love em’ then you hate em’, Kiss em’ then you date em"
This one is self-explanatory.

Skratch: What other special talents do you guys have aside from music? Any hobbies?

Nate knows a lot about cars. My hobbies include Frisbee Golfing (Frolfing).
Colin can make some thin pancakes really well. Hobbies include Frolfing and driving his millennium falcon.
David enjoys playing drums in other bands.
Trevor enjoys widdling life sized teddy bears from trees that he illegally cuts down in National Reserve Parks. Tyler plays Baseball and Basketball and hangs out with his girlfriend.

Skratch: Any secret crushes you care to divulge?

We all have serious crushes on Al Gore because he single handedly made the Internet.

Skratch: Politically, where does the band stand?

Libertarian. Go Ron Paul 2012!!!

Skratch: Aside from being a "rockstar", what are your day jobs? What are your goals?

Nate works at a Lincoln dealership as a Lubetech. Nate wants to tour Japan. David works at Nissan and details cars. David wants to tour the world and space and beyond. Colin is currently pursuing a job in the Philly sandwich industry. Colin wants to be a doctor.
Tyler is a stay at home dad. Tyler wants to have 16 kids. Trevor makes bagels for his parents and all the Jewish and the Mormon people of Omaha.

Skratch: When all is said and done, how do you want to be remembered as a band and as people?

We want to be remembered as Worst Case Scenario, the band that melted your face onto your favorite shirt.

Skratch: Who in the band is more likely to be a pyromaniac, a teacher, and/or an Olympic swimmer?

David is going to be a pyromaniac. Colin is going to be an Olympic swimmer because he knows how to rip a bong. Trevor is going to be a seminary teacher in Utah. Nate and Tyler will be at the homeless shelter waiting to go on tour.
