Exile Of Silence is a fluid, always transforming unit.
Hailing in Los Angeles, it's pistons and wheels churn with creative constant movement.
Exile Of Silence is Eddie and you are the listener.
Eddie, tell us what separates Exile of Silence with other unsigned artists in the states?
Eddie: I think what really separates me for other indie (electronic) artist is the fact that I try to look at music as composer rather than a just an average DJ. I like to keep my music and style original.
Originality is the key. What inspires and influences you as an indie artist?
Eddie: I get inspired by films that have intelligence and creative action sequences. Every time I watch a cinematic scene I get motivated or get a sense of what of type of music I want to create.
In 5 words, how would you best describe your music?
Electronic, Cinematic, Emotional, Energetic, and Positive
That certainly tells the story, Eddie. What is/are your goal(s) as a musician?
My ultimate goal is to produce music that a general audience may enjoy all the time and receive the respect from my peers.
Are there any bands that have made a vital impact on you and how?
Eddie: Incubus, Linkin Park, Propellerheads, Prodigy, and Daft Punk
Tell us about your passions outside of music. Any interesting hobbies?
Eddie: As a hobby I enjoy digital filmmaking especially documentaries for the reason you can tell real life stories.I'm currently the director and producer of a web series called "INDIE 2.O" - you may watch it on myspace.www.myspace.com/indie027.
Where do you want to be in 5 years?
Eddie:
I hope to have my own independent digital record label and help talented indie artist.
How do you see the music industry today versus 5 years ago?
Eddie: We are now living in the digital era, cd's are now being used more for promotion rather than for sell. Many records stores areclosing down because of the growth of digital downloads. I personally think its a shame just for the fact I grew up buying cds.I really enjoyed the idea of buying an album for its music, and concept artwork.
If you could change one thing about the music industry today, what would it be?
Eddie: I think for the most part the music industry isn't really bad, but there can be some positive changes to embrace new indie artists. I understand the music industry is a business, but at times they can lose sight of the artistic side of it. Many new indie artists start with an underground fan base; those are the fans that are loyal and true to the music, lets embrace it.
